The 2020 prep golf season wrapped up Wednesday with the Class 1A St. Bede Sectional boys golf tournament, held at Spring Creek Golf Course in Spring Valley. The Rock Falls girls golf team placed fourth on Tuesday at the Class 1A Rock Falls Sectional, while the Dixon Duchesses finished fifth in the eight-team season-ending tournament. Freshman Megan Fiorini led the Rockets with a fifth-place finish after shooting a 78, while senior Olivia Rick paced Dixon with an 81, good for a tie for eighth. → Read More
Sterling junior Maddie Pink was the lone local to advance out of the Class 2A Sterling Regional on Wednesday at Emerald Hill, tying for fifth place with a 91 to move on to the 2A Dundee-Crown Sectional on Monday. Riders could take any route they wanted to get to different checkpoints on the route where they were asked to take a selfie.
