Surrey RCMP is investigating a drive-by shooting. It happened late Tuesday night, just before 10:30, near a townhouse complex at 75th Avenue and 140th Street. A vehicle was struck but no one was hurt and Mounties say at this time they don’t know if the shooting was targeted. RCMP in Maple Ridge are investigating a fatal accident. It happened at 11:50pm Tuesday on the Lougheed Highway at 240th Street, when a car went off the roadway and struck a power pole. Two people were sent to hospital to be checked for smoke inhalation, after a late night fire in Vancouver. Firefighters were called to a home in the 3100-block of East 16th Avenue just before midnight. By 3am Thursday crews had knocked it down and doused any hotspots. The basement suffered heavy fire damage while there was moderate damage upstairs. The cause does not appear to be suspicious. → Read More
TransLink says a problem on the Millennium Line has resulted in no SkyTrain service between the Sperling and Brentwood stations in Burnaby. As of Wednesday morning, shuttle bus service has been set up between Gilmore and Brentwood stations. The Expo and Canada Lines aren’t affected. → Read More
