I love old style. This is from Oslo were this old gas station has been taken care of, and suited by an old Beatle. "Everyone" here in Norway born before 1960 had a Beatle. As a first car. It was the most affordable. My father had 3 almost similar ones in the 70`s and early 80`s :D. Shot a few years ago at daytime with Sony A7r with the Sony crop lens 10-18mm wich was the only wide angle lens… → Read More
I recently had the pleasure of modeling for @gregory_burgard 's amazing jewelry. He was kind enough to gift me a piece in exchange for a shot of my own, and I finally finished shooting it! This piece actually changes color as you move it around, which inspired me to light the shot with different colored gels. What do you think? → Read More
I visited the White Sands National Park in February. We were there for 4 days. The first day we arrived in the late afternoon and just did a quick hike to check it out thinking we had 3 more days to explore. Unfortunately, the next 2 days brought high winds (50-60mph) to the entire region, so we were unable to visit the park. On the final day, it rained all morning and we were thinking it would… → Read More
I spent almost a month in the Himalayas of Nepal this past April. It included lots of hiking, dal bhat, and expansive views of some of the tallest mountains on Earth. I actually found it to be a really tough area to photograph. I only came back with a few images, maybe 2-3. But, it was a great experience and it was pretty amazing to see Everest for the first time. I did get altitude sickness,… → Read More
I recently completed a 25-mile backpacking trip in Sequoia National Park. The views of nearby snowcapped mountain peaks were absolutely stunning. I spotted this gnarly, sun-bleached overturned stump and knew it would be an interesting composition. I used the focus stacking feature on my Canon R6 and snapped this shot handheld. → Read More
It may be the photographic field that I like the most, coastal photography. From the search for locations, on the internet, blogs, to field work, asking in bars or fishermen. During the shot, arriving before, counting, waves, controlling the sea at all times; compositions that change by the minute, if the tide rises... the foreground ends up disappearing into a body of water, and if it goes… → Read More
My passion for photography lies anywhere between the first sunrise and the last sunset, between the last ray of light until the next or anywhere in between. I love capturing nature images and I am somehow particularly attracted by nightscapes. I find night photography to be amazing. Or, to be more precise, the stars often find me amazed by their beauty. This image is for me a dream come true. I… → Read More
Pictured here is Lake Louise at the Canadian Rockies in winter time. This was shot in mid-day but the light was still soft. The lake was frozen in some areas and there were a lot of people ice skating. I noticed the area where the water enters the lake and saw a small mound of snow in the middle of the water. I was able to find a composition showing the mountain's reflection. → Read More
This image is a prime example of when a plan comes together. Although I composed and processed this image on my own, my friend Scott Aspinall planned this shot months prior to our trip to the Canadian Rockies. We designed the entire trip around this exact scene. We needed the moon to be precisely at this spot, and at the right time of night with the proper illumination. Thankfully, we got clear… → Read More

Photo of the Day selected by: Ryan Mense It has always been said that dreams are to be fulfilled, and this photo is the true reflection of it. I could say that on two occasions, maybe three times I wanted to go to Finnish Lapland, the trees of Riisitunturi had me in love, full of snow, bent by the weight of that snow, walking among giants, but for reasons that are not worth mentioning I could… → Read More
My work is inspired by Renaissance old master paintings so often my lighting and editing style will reflect that look. This is a composited image. Photo of ballerina was taken during my October fine art workshop in Colorado. The background is a digital image overlay added in post. Nikon D750, 50mm, f/2.8 , ISO125, 1/200. Two light setup. One key light camera left in 60" octa, and one 7'… → Read More
I visited this fascinating place on the Galician coast again last week. An idea had been wandering through my thoughts for a long time after seeing the incredible works of the master Daniel Viñé. So I decided it was time to do it. I took a bunch of shots to not burn out the highlights of the scene, to get some detail on the rocks in the cave and a well-defined foreground too. → Read More

I hoped to get a few good images of the Milky Way behind this abandoned cabin in the Black Hills of South Dakota, but on this night Mother Nature had other plans...wind, lightning, and rain. As much as I love a summer storm, time was an issue with the nearly full moon rising to the east and the galactic center traversing the southern sky and out of my composition. With no backup plan, I decided… → Read More

We had planned Fenella's portrait session for about two months, I sourced furniture, decorations, and a dozen different prompts to have enough options for building the set and the atmosphere of the series with her. Spent an endless amount of time refining the concept, fitting the pieces together for the perfect frame and I cannot be happier with the result – this is everything, it is art, I’m in… → Read More
