Hutchinson paper plant is closing its doors and letting people go without notice
The Sonoco Hutchinson Paper Mill is closing its doors after more than a century in business. The plant, which started in 1909 as a paper mill, has been through several owners. Locomotive engine catches fire in Hutchinson
The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to a locomotive fire near Eighth Avenue and Keast Street. The lead engine's motor caught fire. Engineers on the locomotive were able to extinguish the fire before fire crews arrived. Fire crews noticed engine oil running out of the locomotive.
